Workshop on “Yoga and Meditation: Adding Life to Life”

Health and Well-Being Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar organised yoga workshop on the topic “Yoga and Meditation: Adding Life to Life” on International Yoga Day (21-06-201). Shri Devansh Bhaskar, Alumnus Doaba College Jalandhar and Art of Living Teacher graced the occasion as a resource person for the event. He was given a hearty welcome by  Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari,Prof. Suresh Mago, Faculty members and 130 participants. Welcoming the speaker Dr. Pradeep Bhandari explained the importance of International Yoga Day . Mr Divyansh described Yoga as a way of Life. He taught several breathing and stretching exercises, kapalbhati, other pranayams and concentrated on meditation too. Prof. Neha moderated the the event. Finally,  Prof. Garima Chodha casted the vote of Thanks.

Love you Papa, an online Fathers Day Celebration was organised by Student Welfare Committee, Doaba Colleg

“Love you Papa”, an online Father’s Day Celebration was organised by Student Welfare Committee, Doaba College, Jalandhar. The enthusiastic participation of fathers of the students added an incredible charm to the entire event. Ms. Sonia Kalra, Convenor, Student Welfare Committee, Doaba College, formally welcomed the attendees in a poetic manner. 
Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, while sharing the screen with his father Sh. Jagmohan Bhandari, said that if mother teaches us patience, father adds strength and confidence in our lives, making everything achievable. It is with his involvement in our lives that every child can reach the pinnacle.
Jyotika & Muskaan students of BCom Sem IV, presented a dance performance. Aarti student BCom Sem II expressed love for her father through a handmade Card. Whereas, Aseem, student of MAJMC Sem II, through a letter, narrated his love and gratitude towards his father. 
Participants were enthralled with fun- games like ‘Stepping Generation’ and ‘Chupe Rustam Papa’, and ‘Sarvagun Sampann Papa’ in which fathers of various students participated with enthusiasm. Mr. Parveen Rawal and Mr. Varinder Singh won the first positions in, ‘Stepping Generation’ and ‘Chupe Rustam Papa’, respectively. Mr. Harish Mahendru, Mr. Sham Lal and three others won the title of ‘Sarvagun Sampann Papa’.
Mr. Ravinder Grover father of Anchal Grover, MSc (Mathematics)- Sem IV, Mr. Ravinder Kumar Luthra, father of Aseem Kumar, MAJMC Sem II and Mr. Sh. Narinder Kumar father of Tanya B Com. Sem IV, enthusiastically shared their experiences of witnessing their child’s progressive journey in this institution. 
Dr. Arti Mago, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, formally thanked all the participants. The event was attended by approximately 100 participants, including, students, their fathers and faculty members
